We hope you’ve had a wonderful Spring! We’re certain that many of you, like us, are hoping for some sunny, warm days as Summer approaches. Port Moody is the perfect place for a summer outing so, we hope you’ll spend some time in your new neighbourhood and check up on construction over these next few months.
If you’ve been past the site recently you’ll have noticed that Phase 2 is taking shape – framing is nearly complete!
As we’ve mentioned in previous updates, the building is being constructed in four wings, with each at various stages. The roof is now complete on Wings 1 and 2. We’re continuing to install windows and wrap the building as the framing of each section progresses. Wing 3 is currently being framed and framing of Wing 4, the final section of the building, will begin in the next few weeks.
Once the summer weather arrives, the team on site will make the most of it to continue to make progress on the roof along with exterior brick and cladding work. Have we mentioned that we are really looking forward to some summer sunshine?!
Inside the building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins are underway. Bathtubs and shower pans are being installed and concrete topping is being poured.
With Phase 1 nearing completion, we will soon have permanent power for the entire site. This is a major milestone and will be a huge benefit to the construction of Phase 2. Having access to permanent power will allow the team to work even more efficiently.
We are pleased with the progress being made on Phase 2 and are thrilled to see the building continuing to take shape! With Phase 1 completing soon, we hope you’ll visit your friends in the building along with some of the great businesses that will be opening in the commercial spaces.
